I hate the night shift

Kaci did what kids typically do when their sick: start to act like they are feeling better during the day, and then WHAM they are sick again at night. So, besides the obvious problem that she wasn't feeling well, had her fever back and took over an hour to get back to sleep (and by then I was wide awake and had a hard time going back to sleep myself) I no longer have the mommy instinct of hearing your baby cry at night! The night shift is about to come back into my job description and I don't know if I can do it again! For at least a year (maybe two if you want me to be really honest) I don't wake up when Kaci cries in the night. Either Tyler hears her (which he didn't last night) or Shanna will bring her into our room. (Which did happen last night)

I am seriously doubting my mommy skills the third time around. I am wondering what child labor laws would say about an 8 year old getting up in the night to give a baby a bottle? Maybe just until school starts in the fall?
