Gardening Commandments

I am getting ready to plant my fall garden, and after some pretty disgusting clean-up, I have started a list of Gardening Commandments:

  1. Thou shalt not plant honeydew and cantaloupe next to the air conditioning unit
  2. Thou will pick honeydew and cantaloupe promptly (even the hidden ones on the bottom)
  3. Thou shalt not plant honeydew and cantaloupe ever again
  4. Thou shalt not plant pumpkins in July
  5. Thou shalt not plan 27 varieties of lettuce
  6. Thou shalt not forget to spray for bugs, even if you think you don't have any
  7. Thou shalt not forget to check your tomato plants for big green caterpillars with eyes all over their bodies
8. 9. and 10. will probably be added after the fall harvest!

At dinner last night, Shanna told us that she had looked up the word "fairy" in the dictionary at school and it defined it a "fictional character from children's stories". She wanted to know how that pertained to the tooth fairy. Shouldn't the school censor the dictionaries for words like that?
